Mircom Acquires Secutron Assets from Tyco

Mircom through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Secutron Inc., is very pleased to announce the acquisition of the Secutron Product Line, from SimplexGrinnell LP and Tyco Safety Products Canada Ltd.

Mircom is the largest privately-held independent designer and manufacturer of Fire Alarm Life Safety and Telephone Access products in North America. The Secutron product line represents a family of high quality fire alarm products installed in prestigious locations throughout the world, including U.S. military facilities, federal, state and foreign facilities.

Secutron Inc. is acquiring all customer accounts, inventory, trade names and intellectual property belonging to Tyco related exclusively to the Secutron Product Line. The Secutron product line will not be used by SimplexGrinnell or any other Tyco fire business. 

Secutron assets and operations, including engineering design, manufacturing and customer and technical support, will be transitioned to a state-of-the-art 82,000 square foot facility in Toronto, Canada.  It is anticipated that the initial transfer could take up to two weeks to complete, during which time shipments and order processing activities may be delayed or interrupted.  Mircom will make every effort to minimize this transitional downtime, and welcomes any customer inquiries.
